Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring a compact RN license, 2+ years of experience, and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

• Community hospital setting in the Labor and Delivery unit
• Provides care across Antepartum, Labor & Delivery, LDRP, Level I Nursery, Low-risk, and Mother/Baby settings
• Facility performs fewer than 100 births per month
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Works every other weekend
• Blocked schedule option available
• Required to work 3 twelve-hour on-call shifts per 6-week period
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Floating required as needed
• May care for COVID-positive patients
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact or PA state license) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP required
• AWHONN Advanced and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skilled in fetal monitoring, including recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns and IUPC placement/calibration
• Experienced in labor and delivery management including vaginal delivery assistance, C-section circulation, and hemorrhage/shock management
• Experienced in antepartum care including NST, OCT, and sterile vaginal exams
• Experienced in postpartum care including fundus/lochia/perineum care and wound assessment
• Experienced in neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation
• Experienced in high-risk OB conditions including pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, VBAC management, and multiple gestation
• Experienced in medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives

Additional Information

• Deliver comprehensive care across the maternal-newborn continuum, including antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
• Provide newborn care including discharge teaching, metabolic screening, and phototherapy
• Support patients with high-risk conditions such as HELLP syndrome, pre-eclampsia, and preterm labor
• Assist with surgical procedures including cervical cerclage and D&C
• Provide pain management support including epidural and PCA administration
• Work in a tobacco and fragrance-free facility
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• Must live within a 50-mile radius for local candidate consideration at a reduced rate
