Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery/Postpartum position requiring an active MA RN license and 3+ years of L&D experience.

Details

• Work in a 25-bed Labor & Delivery unit including L&D, PP, NBN, 2 ORs, 2 RRs, and 2 ANU rooms
• Unit has 5 LD rooms, 12 PP beds, 2 ORs, 2 RRs, and 2 ANU rooms with 4 beds
• Average daily census of 15-25 mothers, babies, and laboring patients
• Clinician to patient ratios: L&D 1:2-3 for evaluations, 1:1 for active labor, magnesium gtt or epidural patients, and PP 1:3-4
• Duties include circulating and newborn care
• Uses EPIC EMR for charting
• Schedule rotates between 7:00am-7:30pm, 11:00am-11:30pm, and 7:00pm-7:30am shifts
• Primarily a day position with rotation to evenings and nights as needed
• Requires every-other-weekend (EOW) coverage and one night of call
• No floating required
• Contract length of 13 weeks for 36 or 48 hours per week

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required, no conditional or pending licenses accepted
• Minimum of 3 years of experience required
• Required certifications: AHA BLS, NRP, and EFM (renewed every 2 years for L&D)
• AHA ACLS preferred
• Skill set must include Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Circulating, and Newborn Care
• Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across Labor & Delivery and Postpartum units, including circulating and newborn care duties
• Straight day shifts are not available; rotation to evenings and nights is required
• Candidates must reside within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston to be considered a local candidate, with an adjusted rate applying
• Public transportation or paid public parking required at Boston locations, as no validated parking is available
• Timekeeping is managed through UKG/Kronos
