Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery/Postpartum position at a Level 3 Trauma, Maternal Fetal Medicine Referral Center facility in Concord, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of LDRP experience and active NC or compact RN license.

Details

  • Labor & Delivery/Postpartum unit within a 457-bed Level 3 Trauma hospital and Maternal Fetal Medicine Referral Center
  • Unit consists of 13 labor beds and 5 triage rooms with an average daily census of 9–10 patients
  • Patient population includes high-risk antepartum, active labor, triage, pre-eclampsia and other hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, and immediate postpartum
  • Facility performs approximately 60–65 deliveries per month
  • RN-to-patient ratio: 1:1–2 for laboring patients
  • EMR: Epic (experience required)
  • Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, GE monitors, Monica Novii, and Neptune systems
  • 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend rotation required
  • Floating required within Region 1, which includes multiple facilities (Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, and Central Division including CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH); candidates must be willing to float or should not apply
  • No on-call requirements for travelers

Requirements

  • Active NC or compact RN license currently in hand
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and EFM
  • Minimum 2 years of LDRP experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
  • Proficiency in labor management, circulating cesarean sections, pre-op, PACU, triage, neonatal resuscitation, Pitocin management, and epidural management
  • Candidate's permanent address must be located more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
  • Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
  • Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include labor management, circulating C-sections, triage assessments, antepartum and postpartum care, and neonatal resuscitation
  • Departmental support includes a 24/7 charge nurse, OB Mentor, OB physicians, anesthesia/CRNA team, scrub tech, hospitalist, intensivist, respiratory therapy, phlebotomy, and IV/VAT team
  • Orientation includes facility NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientation
  • Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays
  • Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays; time missed must be added to the end of the contract if contracted hours are not met
  • Hospital-provided green OR scrubs are required
  • Free parking is available on-site
  • Candidates who have previously held a permanent position at any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
