Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring KY or compact RN licensure and AWHONN FHM, ACLS, and NRP certifications.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit with 6 LDR beds, 2-bay PACU, 2 OR suites, 3 triage beds, and 3 outpatient testing beds
• Cares for Labor and Delivery, OB triage, and OB surgical patients
• Patient ratio of 1-2:1 for labor patients
• Utilizes OB emergency skills including hemorrhage and hypertension management
• RNs circulate OB surgical cases
• Night shift schedule, 7p-7a, 3x12 (36 hours/week)
• Weekend and holiday rotation required

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, AWHONN FHM, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior experience required
• Proficiency in medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, and use of medical equipment
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and patients/families

Additional Information

• Provides direct patient care including assessments, treatments, and care coordination for Labor and Delivery patients
• Facilitates admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
• Delegates and oversees patient care tasks performed by other team members
• Mentors staff and nursing students and supports orientation of new staff
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measures
• Promotes a positive, healing environment through professional and compassionate care
