Job Summary Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) North Austin Medical Center, Austin, TX. This 13-week contract entails providing high-quality nursing care in a dynamic Level IV labor and delivery unit. The role involves managing patient care during both day and night shifts, ensuring safety and comfort for mothers and infants, and adhering to clinical protocols.
Job Details
Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Labor and Delivery (L&D)
Location: North Austin Medical Center
Specialty: Labor and Delivery Department
Shift: Days (7:00 AM 7:00 PM), 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
Duration: 13 weeks, starting October 5, 2026, ending January 4, 2027
Required Qualifications: Valid RN license; BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program); 2+ years of nursing experience in L&D; experience with Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM), C-Section circulation, and competency in SVE; and candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.
Responsibilities include managing labor and delivery patient care, leading procedures such as SVD, cerclages, C-Sections, and TOLAC, and following unit policies and guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a Level IV high-volume unit or previous employment at a similar facility.
Additional Information: Unit utilizes Novii, JADA, Fetal Pillow, IUPC, FSE, Toco, US EMR Meditech. Team players with a positive attitude and compliance with dress code (solid blue/black or grey sweatshirts, navy blue scrubs only) are encouraged to apply.
