Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery registered nurse position is located in a busy maternity unit in McAllen, Texas. The role involves providing comprehensive care to laboring patients, assisting in cesarean sections, and supporting antepartum patients. This position requires immediate clinical expertise, critical thinking, and the ability to work efficiently within a multidisciplinary team.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), BLS (Basic Life Support), and EFM (Electronic Fetal Heart Monitoring) certifications; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; L&D experience highly recommended.
• Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with L&D experience and BSN degree will be prioritized.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: The unit is equipped with OR facilities, fetal heart monitors, and ultrasound machines. It maintains a patient ratio of 1:1 for mothers in final labor stages or C-section, and 1:4 for antepartum patients. Typical procedures include labor management and assisting with cesarean deliveries. The dress code is royal blue scrubs, and policies related to labor, delivery, and postpartum care are in place.
