Job Summary: The Labor and Delivery specialist located in Seattle, Washington, will provide care in a high-volume maternity unit with a diverse patient population. The role involves managing high-risk obstetric cases, including postpartum care following delivery, with a focus on experienced obstetric interventions and procedures.
Job Details:
Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Valid state license with a compact license in hand at submission; at least 1 year of experience in labor and delivery; certifications including BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program); experience with postpartum, postpartum hemorrhage, Foley, magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin (oxytocin), vaginial delivery, cesarean section, episiotomy/incision care, fundus/lochia/perineum care, substance withdrawal, and management of high-risk obstetric patients.
Preferred Qualifications: JADA (Joint Accreditation for Doulas and Obstetrics) experience preferred.
Float: Float rotation may be required at the Issaquah and Edmonds campuses.
Additional Information: The unit handles high-risk obstetric patients with a daily census of approximately 45. Candidates must be flexible to work three of the five major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, New Years Day), and all scheduling requests must be submitted during the application process. Candidates should have at least two references covering one year within the past three years.
