Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery (L&D) registered nurse position is based in Washington, District of Columbia. This role involves providing specialized maternity care to female patients, including those in various stages of pregnancy, labor, and delivery. The position requires clinical expertise in managing labor, delivery, and postpartum care, working within a fast-paced, dynamic environment in a healthcare facility.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per day, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 08/10/2026.
  • Required Qualifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the District of Columbia; at least 2 years of labor and delivery experience; BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification; NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification; experience with electronic fetal monitoring and labor room data documentation; experience with labor, delivery, and postpartum patient populations; on-call requirement of one shift per week; live within 50 miles of the facility.
  • Preferred Qualifications: LRDP experience, labor with postpartum experience preferred.
  • Additional Information: The role includes participating in admissions, discharges, transfers, pre-operative procedures, and deliveries (both vaginal and cesarean). The activity involves using fetal monitors, Cerner, and Fetalink documentation systems to ensure patient safety and quality care.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required, depending on operational needs.
