Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse in Douglas, GA. This position involves providing specialized care in a facility with a focus on childbirth and maternal health. The role requires a proactive leader capable of managing patient care during night shifts and adapting to potential float requirements to the Mother Baby unit. The facility handles approximately 80-90 births per month, with a patient-focused environment following established nursing standards.

Job Details:

  • Location: Douglas, GA
  • Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications; 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery; familiarity with Centricity electronic charting system; ability to take charge and work independently; experience with Medi-charting system Paragon preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of AWHONN standards; experience managing diverse patient populations; ability to float to Mother Baby unit if needed; prior experience in high-volume birth settings.
  • Additional Information: The facility features 6 LDRP rooms, 2 triage rooms, 5 postpartum/Women's Health Service rooms, and 2 NICU beds available in the nursery. The charting system used is Centricity, with medication administration documented via Paragon. The unit follows policies aligned with AWHONN standards, handling a high volume of births each month.
