Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse in Wichita, Kansas. Job Details:
- Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid registered nurse license, minimum of 1-year current acute care postpartum experience, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification, and ability to work in the United States
- Preferred Qualifications: Obstetrics (OB) experience, medical-surgical (med-surg) experience, gynecology (GYN) experience
- Unit Information:
- Number of beds: 29
- Staffing: 20 staff members, including 1 charge nurse per shift and 2-4 RNs
- Patient ratios: 4-6:1
- Equipment: Welch Allen vitals machines, CPN monitors, point-of-care glucose monitoring
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech / CPN
- Typical procedures: Post-operative gynecological surgeries, urogynecology surgeries, ectopic pregnancies, high-risk pregnancies (PPROM, preeclampsia, previa, preterm labor), fetal monitoring (non-stress tests), postpartum/post-surgical obstetric care, readmitted postpartum complications
- Additional information: The unit emphasizes a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. Staff are experienced and utilize up-to-date equipment. Schedule flexibility and a supportive team environment are highlighted as benefits of this assignment.
