Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse specializing in Obstetrics located in Iowa. This role involves providing comprehensive care to patients during labor, delivery, postpartum, antepartum, and newborn nursery. The position requires active clinical engagement with high-acuity obstetric patients, including handling labor, delivery, and post-delivery care in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: 24 months of current Labor and Delivery / Obstetrics experience, EPIC electronic medical record experience, active Iowa or multistate nursing license, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), Fetal Monitoring certification, and a valid drivers license.
- Preferred Qualifications: Postpartum and nursery experience highly preferred; experience in electronic fetal monitoring (EFM); prior experience with NICU or Mother-Baby units; willingness to float to Med Surg/ICU to assist with med pass or tech cares; experience in a similar high-acuity setting.
- Additional Information: The role involves working within a unit with 3 Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum beds and 4 postpartum beds, with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:1 during active labor and 1:3-4 postpartum. The typical patient load includes labor, delivery, postpartum, antepartum, and neonatal care. Orientation begins on 08/17/2026, with follow-up orientation on 08/24/2026. Candidates may be required to float to Med Surg or ICU units infrequently.
