Job Summary: Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse position is available in a women's health unit located in the region. The role involves providing specialized care to obstetric and postpartum patients in a high-acuity setting, following established unit standards and guidelines. The position offers an opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to maternal and neonatal health.
Job Details:
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM 7:00 AM, with weekends as needed and first to float; minimum of 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Valid registered nurse license, BLS certification, ACLS certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Stable certification (taken at least once), AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring, and at least 2 years of nursing experience in Labor and Delivery, postpartum, and circulating skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with triage, titration of drips such as Pitocin, magnesium, and insulin; familiarity with GE Connect Electronic Fetal Monitoring system.
Additional Information: Responsibilities include circulating in labor and postpartum areas, managing patients with common diagnoses such as laboring patients 32 weeks and greater, elective and medical inductions, and well newborns. Unit staffing includes Charge RNs, Resource RNs, and nurse aids, with in-house OB/Neonatologist, Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, anesthesiologists, and midwives available 24/7. The unit primarily follows American Womens Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nursing guidelines for staffing ratios. Customized orientation typically comprises 4-6 shifts.
