Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery Nurse in Ithaca, New York, provides specialized direct patient care within the Maternal Child Health department. This role involves collaborating with unit leadership to deliver comprehensive care to patients undergoing labor and postpartum processes. The nurse will utilize clinical judgment and person-centered approaches to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient needs, ensuring optimal outcomes. Experience in labor and delivery is required, with flexibility for floating to related departments on a rotational basis.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 08/17/2026.
• Required Qualifications: Current nursing license, certifications in Labor and Delivery (such as AWHONN and ACOG), relevant clinical experience in Labor and Delivery, postpartum experience preferred, and at least 1 year of nursing experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Cross-training in NICU and postpartum care, experience with person-centered care planning, and skills in patient and family education within Maternal Child Health.
• Float: Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: This position involves caring for patients across labor, postpartum, NICU, and related units, with responsibility for managing complex clinical situations and providing comprehensive support to patients and families. The role requires proactive involvement with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and link patients with appropriate services.
