Job Summary Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) Location: Alaska. This position involves providing comprehensive care in a high-risk obstetric unit within a magnet-designated facility. The role requires a dedicated professional with a focus on maternal and neonatal health, supporting deliveries, antepartum, and postpartum patients, with an emphasis on high-risk cases and triage.
Job Details
Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced, and NRP.
Education and licensing: Must hold an active Alaska RN license in hand for auto-offer; pending licenses accepted but must be in hand for immediate consideration.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in Labor and Delivery.
Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
The role involves working every other weekend, with no float required unless within scope, and candidates cannot be local residents (must be at least 50 miles from the facility).
Additional clinical responsibilities include assisting with high-risk deliveries, cesarean sections, administering medications such as magnesium sulfate and Pitocin, and using electronic fetal monitoring.
Candidates must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) and complete required modules prior to start.
The assignment duration is from 11/02/2026 to 05/03/2027, with a guaranteed 60 hours every two weeks.
Submission must include two references covering one year (or six months for CNAs) within the past three years.
