Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery registered nurses in an acute care setting are needed for a facility located in Meridian, Idaho. This role involves providing care for women during labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal periods, following established clinical guidelines and standards. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic maternal and neonatal care environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., weekends as needed, with first to float.
- Required Qualifications: Licensure to practice as a registered nurse, at least 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, full certifications including BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring, and stable certification (taken at least once).
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in triage and circulating duties essential; familiarity with GE Connect Electronic Fetal Monitoring system.
- Additional Information: The unit has 10 labor/birth beds, 4 triage beds, and 10 postpartum beds. It maintains staffing ratios as per AWHONN standards, with dedicated charge nurses and resource nurses on each shift. The team includes CNAs, a 24/7 OB hospitalist, neonatal nurse practitioners, neonatologists on call, anesthesia CRNAs, and a unit clerk available 24/7. The unit is equipped to manage laboring patients from 32 weeks' gestation and beyond, with a typical volume of 120 births per month. New staff will undergo customized orientation tailored to individual experience, typically 4-6 shifts.
