Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse in Riverside, California. This role involves providing care to patients during labor, childbirth, and postpartum periods in a busy labor and delivery unit. Candidates will be expected to manage labor processes, monitor fetal and maternal well-being, and support families through the delivery experience.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and AWHONN Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification; zero years of experience required
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with AWHONN Fetal Monitoring, couplet care, over 2 years of labor and delivery experience, transition nurse or baby catching skills
- Unit Information: Labor beds 11; additional monitoring and recovery areas; staffing includes 1 charge nurse and 10 other staff members per shift; two OB technicians per shift; staff-to-patient ratio of 1 RN/2 patients during day shift and 1 RN/1 patient during night shift
- Typical Procedures: Non-stress tests (NST), cervical exams, managing labor, medication titration, McRoberts maneuver
- Personality Fit: Candidates who thrive in fast-paced, organized environments with multiple patients
- Floating Area: Postpartum- couplet care if floated
- Dress Code: Hospital infant security scrubs
- Unit Policies: Adherence to unit policies and guidelines as provided on intranet
- On-call Requirements: On-call duties may be required during weekends and shifts, as needed
- Number of Positions: Three (3)
