Job Details

• Position Description:
  Unit notes include the department of Labor and Delivery with four labor beds and seven postpartum beds. The unit follows AWHONN guidelines for nurse-to-patient ratios: Labor: 1:1-2, Postpartum: 1:2-3. The care team manages patients over 35 weeks in labor, including Mom/Baby couplets.
• Certifications and Education Requirements:
  Valid BLS, ACLS, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications are required. Candidates must possess a nursing license and have at least two years of experience in labor and delivery nursing.
• Schedule:
  Rotating shifts from 7 am to 7 pm, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Weekend and holiday shifts are required on a rotating basis.
• Additional Responsibilities:
  RNs are required to titrate drips such as Magnesium, Oxytocin, LR, Zofran, Prenatal vitamins, Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, Percocet, and Toradol. The role includes troubleshooting neonatal ventilator equipment such as CPAP, Bipap, and high flow devices, as well as operating Electronic Fetal Heart Monitoring systems.
• Float:
  Float rotation may be required to the Medical Surgical Postpartum (MSP) or Emergency Department (ED) for assisting as needed, primarily sitting 1:1 with patients.
• Submission Requirements:
  Applicants must be licensed and able to submit to the application process, with a preference for candidates able to start on 10/12/2026 and work until 01/11/2027. RTO (Request for Time Off) must be communicated and approved upfront, with a limit of 7 days or less during the 13-week contract.
