Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor and Delivery (L&D) is needed at a healthcare facility in Issaquah, Washington. This position involves providing care during labor, preterm labor, and postpartum, with opportunities to attend high-risk deliveries and GYN surgeries. The assignment offers a dynamic work environment focused on maternal-infant health.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum 48 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: 2 years of recent experience in Labor and Delivery, active compact license in the state of Washington, certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Intermediate. Preferred certifications include Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate (ACLS preferred).
  • Special Procedures: Blood/blood products administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, warming/cooling blankets, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, syringe pumps, wound vacuum therapy, medication administration including heparin, insulin, magnesium sulfate.
  • Special Equipment: Attends all deliveries and high-risk deliveries, GYN surgeries, couplet care, transition nursery.
  • Skills: Administering blood products, anticoagulation therapy, assist with high-risk deliveries, circulate for cesarean sections, epidural anesthesia, labor & delivery, magnesium sulfate therapy, maintain central lines, pain management, sterile vaginal exams, use of intrauterine pressure catheter (IUPC) and PCA, wound care, teaching hospital experience, triage of obstetrical patients.
  • Additional Information: The total patient census is approximately 200-300 deliveries per month, with staffing ratios of 1:1-3 during labor. Candidates must be flexible to float to Post-Partum and NICU units based on skill set. The assignment begins on 07/20/2026. Candidates should be prepared to work three of the five major holidays.
  • Travel & Licensure: Must have at least 1 year of experience in a related setting, valid compact license in hand at submission, and be within 50 miles of the facility. Prior experience at a Providence facility as a permanent, travel, or registry/per-diem staff is requested, with references covering the last 1 year.
  • Additional Details: Candidates may be expected to float between nearby facilities during the assignment. Mobile communication devices are provided or reimbursed if not supplied by the client. Candidates should confirm they have not worked at a Providence facility previously or specify locations and dates if applicable.
