Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse specializing in an acute care setting, located in Maryland. This role involves providing high-quality maternal and neonatal care within a community hospital environment. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic department, supporting various patient age groups, including neonates, adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics, on a night shift schedule.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Maryland RN license or compact license; BLS, ACLS, and NCC Clinical Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) certification required in hand at time of submission; 2 years of experience preferred but will accept 1 year with strong skill set; recent charge experience recommended; experience with labor and delivery patient ratios of 2; familiarity with Epic electronic medical record system preferred
- Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced and Intermediate (preferred), BLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), NCC C-EFM
- Experience: 2 years of relevant clinical experience preferred; minimum of 0 years required
- Additional Responsibilities: Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, neonatal care, postpartum management, fetal monitoring, patient education, and emergency procedures such as hemorrhage management and maternal-fetal assessments
- Patient Population: Neonates, adolescents, adults, pediatrics, geriatrics
- On-Call: Not required
- RTO (Requests for Time Off): All RTO must be requested upfront; maximum 7 days with up to one major holiday off during the winter season
- Floating: Required within all areas of labor and delivery and mother-baby/postpartum units as needed, without restrictions or special requests
- Other Details: Must complete onboarding labs within 72 hours of signing contract; compliance document deadline is 5 days prior to start; must be comfortable working in a community hospital with labor, delivery, antepartum, and nursery units; Epic EMR system utilized
