Job Summary Labor and Delivery Nurse in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing specialized care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods. The position offers a dynamic environment with opportunities to attend high-risk deliveries and utilize advanced equipment and procedures.
Job Details
Required Qualifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP certifications; 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery; successful completion of Epic experience; valid compact state license; minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.
Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week.
Responsibilities: Attend all deliveries, including high-risk cases; perform circulation, OB-GYN, Post-Op, Pre-Op, Scrub, Low Risk Antepartum, and Low Risk LD duties; administer blood and blood products; perform cardioversion, defibrillation, and manage epidural, PCA, and syringe pumps; provide wound care and use specialized equipment such as Wound Vac and infusion pumps; administer Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate; monitor high-risk and labor patients, including preterm labor cases. Candidates should be comfortable with intrauterine pressure catheter placement, epidural procedures, and managing sterile vaginal exams.
Additional Information: Candidates may be asked to float between Post-Partum and Labor & Delivery units as needed. Must be flexible to work 3 of 5 major holidays and request all time off and scheduling restrictions upfront. References covering the last 3 years are required, with at least 2 references.
