Job Summary Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D) Night Shift Location: Not specified. This position involves managing high-risk obstetric cases, including antepartum, postpartum, recovery, and women's health patients. The role requires delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety initiatives and clinical protocols.
Education/Experience Requirements: No minimum years of experience specified, but a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
Responsibilities include managing L&D, recovery, postpartum, and women's health patients, with high-risk obstetric cases, transfers, and fetal monitoring responsibilities.
Must be able to start own IVs.
The unit handles approximately 250 births per month and maintains strong perinatal safety initiatives.
The environment requires adherence to evidence-based practices, chart audits, and patient-centered care initiatives such as immediate skin-to-skin contact and early breastfeeding.
Shift specifics include providing in-house coverage with in-house anesthesia and RT support, and responding to standby calls within 30 minutes if needed.
This role requires cross-functionality in various OB and women's health procedures, with comprehensive online and on-site training provided.
Certified to submit license, with no evidence of block certifications; fetal monitoring is an essential part of the role.
Float rotation may be required.
