Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse position in a high-volume, high-risk environment. The role involves providing care throughout the delivery process, including postpartum and neonatal care, with an emphasis on supporting high acuity patients. Candidates will function as Baby Nurses during deliveries and continue newborn care until transfer to postpartum, supporting a wide range of patient diagnoses and procedures.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 48 hours per week, starting 10/19/2026 and ending 04/19/2027.
• Required Qualifications: Valid state license (compact license preferred), at least 1 year of experience in high-risk labor and delivery settings, neonatal resuscitation program (NRP), basic life support (BLS), advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) certifications preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: EPIC electronic fetal monitoring experience, advanced AWHONN certifications, prior experience in high-volume maternal/neonatal units, experience with high acuity and fast-paced environments, knowledge of high-risk obstetric procedures, and ability to support community and inpatient care.
• Additional Information: Candidates must be able to float to sister facilities supporting postpartum and antepartum units as needed, with experience in electronic fetal monitoring and postpartum/neonatal procedures. The role requires circulating for high-risk deliveries and providing direct newborn care, including assessments, eye care, injections, and support during delivery. Work includes assisting with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and neonatal resuscitation. The assignment demands flexibility to work holidays and quick adaptability to unit needs.
• Travel Compliance: At least 1 year of recent relevant experience required. References covering the last 12 months (or 6 months if a CNA). Must include response regarding previous work at a Providence facility. No call-in unless explicitly communicated. Candidates may float to sister facilities depending on unit needs, with refusal to float potentially leading to termination.
