Job Summary: Lactation and Delivery (L&D) Nurse position, located in a high-risk antepartum and labor and delivery unit, providing care for obstetric patients. The role involves managing high-risk pregnancies, supporting labor and delivery, and performing various specialized procedures. The assignment offers an opportunity to work in a Magnet-designated facility with a team dedicated to providing excellent maternal and fetal care.
Job Details:
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, a minimum of 48 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Valid Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand, BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced Certifications, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
Preferred Qualifications: Charge experience or willingness to train as charge nurse.
Experience: No minimum experience required beyond being a licensed RN, with a minimum of 1 year preferred.
Patient Care: Manage high-risk antepartum and labor patients, including triage and testing, with an average of 7-14 deliveries daily and 4-5 third trimester testing patients.
Procedures/Responsibilities: Assist with high-risk deliveries, cesarean sections, hysterectomies, cervical cerclage, and neonatal resuscitations. Use of electronic fetal monitoring and administration of medications such as Mag sulfates and Pitocin.
Additional Information: Must have license in hand for auto-offer; pending licenses accepted but require license at approval. Candidate must be willing to work major holidays, with the possibility of floating within scope to affiliate hospitals as needed.
