Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse in an urban healthcare facility located in Austin, Texas. This role involves providing specialized perinatal care within a high-volume, level IV unit, supporting a team dedicated to maternal and newborn health. The position offers opportunities to work with advanced equipment and technology in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Job Details
- Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 48 hours per week
- Schedule: Nights and days; no call requirement; alternating weekends
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN); 2+ years of nursing experience in Labor and Delivery; proficiency in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM); C-Section circulation competency; experience with high-volume units preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in a Level IV high-volume unit; competency in internal monitor placement; prior employment with a healthcare provider in a similar setting.
- Additional Information: This role involves caring for a patient population that includes patients undergoing SVD, cerclages, C-sections, and TOLAC. Scrub attire must be solid blue, black, or grey sweatshirts; navy blue scrubs are required. The team values team players with a positive attitude and excellent clinical skills. A supportive environment with advanced equipment such as Novii, JADA, Fetal Pillow, IUPC, FSE, Toco, and US is provided to enhance patient care.
