Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse in Dickinson, North Dakota. This role involves caring for antepartum, labor, postpartum, and neonatal patients in a rural hospital setting. The position requires clinical expertise, independence, effective communication, and teamwork to provide high-quality maternity care. The shift is scheduled for nights, with a 12-hour shift pattern and a minimum of 48 hours per week.

Job Details

  • Location: Dickinson, North Dakota
  • Schedule: Nights 4x12-hour shifts, with every third weekend and holidays as needed, starting on 08/17/2026
  • Required Qualifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certificate, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certificate, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certificate; a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in Labor and Delivery.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) guidelines, experience floating to other departments, ability to manage neonatal ventilator equipment, and familiarity with obstetric and neonatal care procedures.
  • Responsibilities include: Managing laboring patients, postpartum care, neonatal resuscitation, troubleshooting neonatal ventilation systems, and adhering to hospital protocols for obstetric patients.
  • Additional Details:
    • Unit has 4 Labor and Delivery beds, 7 postpartum beds.
    • Follow AWHONN ratios: labor 1:1-2, postpartum 1:2-3.
    • Float to Medical-Surgical and Emergency Departments for additional support, primarily sitting 1:1 with patients.
    • Scrubs are provided.
    • Orientation includes 3 days of 12-hour shifts.
    • This facility is located more than one hour from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), with limited services available locally.
    • RTO (Requested Time Off) must be submitted upfront for 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved.
    • The facility does not accept part-time, PRN, or full-time applicants associated with certain hospital systems outside the specified criteria.
