Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2 years of L&D experience and AWHONN Intermediate or CEFM certification.

Details

• Work in a 12-bed Labor & Delivery unit within a Women's and Children's building
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Supported by unit secretaries and OR techs
• Documentation systems used include CPN and Meditech
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Schedule includes 3 weekend shifts and 1 call shift per assignment period
• Works 3 shifts of 12 hours each
• Travelers are required to float first per unit policy
• Unit emphasizes shared decision-making in patient care

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN or Compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate or CEFM
• Experience with care of the laboring patient and immediate newborn care required
• Experience circulating and recovering C-section patients required
• Skilled in procedures including vaginal deliveries, C-sections, D&C, cerclage, epidural anesthesia, and tub labor
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care throughout the labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum period
• Assist with circulating and recovery duties for cesarean section patients
• Required to wear Ceil Blue, Navy Blue, or Gray scrubs (not provided by facility)
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• 13-week assignment length
