Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Labor & Delivery unit. High-risk labor and delivery experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.
Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies, and procedures, standards of care, and state laws/practice act.
Documents care according to established standards.
Develops, initiates, and executes a patient plan of care based on individualized patient needs, as prescribed by a physician and/or hospital policy, including patient and family instruction.
Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, including shared governance.
Utilizes clinical expertise to provide guidance to other units and departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.
Applies critical thinking regarding patient safety and experience and escalates issues to the appropriate chain of command as necessary.
Schedule Information
Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM with every third weekend and holiday rotation required.
Qualifications
Current Illinois RN License.
CPR, ACLS, and NRP certification required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery or related field.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program; education verification is required.
