Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level IV Labor & Delivery position in Indianapolis, IN, requiring advanced fetal monitoring skills and NRP Advanced certification for night shift work.

Details

  • Night shift position with hours of 19:00–07:30 (12.5-hour shifts)
  • 13-week travel contract
  • Level IV Women & Infants Hospital with a 15-bed L&D unit, 20-bed High Risk Unit, and 8-bed OB Triage
  • Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines: 1:1 for active labor and up to 2 patients in early/latent labor
  • Charge nurse coverage available in both L&D and the High Risk Unit; a dedicated baby nurse is present for deliveries
  • 36 hours per week with every third weekend required
  • Holiday rotation required
  • Orientation consists of two shifts

Requirements

  • Active Indiana RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
  • Minimum 2 years of L&D nursing experience required
  • Level IV Labor & Delivery experience required
  • BLS and ACLS required (must be AHA-issued)
  • NRP Advanced certification required (AHA/American Academy of Pediatrics)
  • Advanced external fetal monitoring experience required; Ascension fetal monitoring certification or equivalent (AWHONN, Relias, or similar program within the past 2 years) accepted
  • Experience with Magnesium and insulin drips required
  • Must provide a valid US Social Security Number and a US home address
  • Two professional references required
  • Copy of Driver's License required for consideration
  • Full SSN and full DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide high-acuity labor and delivery nursing care in a Level IV Women & Infants Hospital setting, including management of high-risk OB patients
  • Must adhere to AWHONN guidelines for patient care and staffing ratios
  • Strong attendance reliability is expected; the facility has a zero-tolerance policy for call-outs
  • Local candidates are accepted; however, candidates residing within the facility's radius may be subject to a reduced pay rate
  • COVID vaccination is not required for this position
