Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN with fetal monitoring certification and S.T.A.B.L.E. certification for a Family Birth Center night shift assignment.

Details

• Family Birth Center unit providing antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum/newborn care
• 12-hour night shift, 1700-0500, three days per week
• No call requirements for this position
• Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles may be required
• EPIC EMR experience preferred; on-site training available

Requirements

• Active State of New Mexico or Compact State RN license required
• Minimum two years of current L&D experience required
• ADN or ASN degree required
• BLS certification required (AHA, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross)
• NRP certification required
• AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required
• S.T.A.B.L.E. certification required
• Must pass Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) testing during the first week of assignment; failure results in dismissal from assignment

Additional Information

• Perform antepartum triage assessments for patients over 20 weeks gestation, including labor and fetal evaluation
• Assess and manage high-risk conditions such as preterm labor, preeclampsia, rupture of membranes, and vaginal bleeding
• Provide intrapartum care including labor support, medication administration (e.g., Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, terbutaline), and cesarean delivery preparation
• Deliver newborn stabilization and care, including hearing screens, medication administration, phototherapy, and hypoglycemia management
• Provide care for newborns experiencing opiate withdrawal and assist with critical newborn transport stabilization
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates are not eligible
• Former Presbyterian Health Services staff must wait one year before being eligible for rehire as a traveler
