Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Labor & Delivery role requiring NJ or compact RN license and experience managing a high-risk, high-census delivery unit.

Details

• Work in the Delivery Room unit of a hospital setting
• High-risk labor and delivery patient population with high patient census
• Uses Epic for charting
• Day shift schedule, 7a-7p, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
• No on-call requirements
• May float to a sister hospital nearby

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
• Ability to function effectively in a high-risk labor and delivery unit
• Ability to manage a high patient census
• Experience with pre-operative and postoperative assessment and patient education

• Provide direct patient care and demonstrate competent clinical skills including emergency equipment use
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of nursing care and patient progress
• Uphold professional practice standards and knowledge of unit policies and procedures
• Promote patient and family satisfaction while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals including use of two patient identifiers and safe transfer techniques
• Support timely completion of pre-admission testing and evaluate orders for appropriateness
• Accepts local candidates at a different pay rate
• Travelers may remain on assignment up to one calendar year from the initial start date before requiring a break
