BHS Workforce is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Santa Cruz, California.

  • Shift: 12-hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Schedule: 36 hours/week (3×12s)
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (EOW)
  • Floating: First to float to Mother/Baby unit
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks (91 days)
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36/week

Unit Information

  • Unit Size: 8 L&D rooms (expandable to 10)
  • Monthly Deliveries: Approximately 65–75
  • NICU:Level III NICU on-site
  • Patient Population:
    • High-risk pregnancies
    • Pregnancy-induced hypertension (PIH)
    • Preeclampsia
    • Substance use/addiction
    • Preterm labor
    • Magnesium sulfate patients
  • Baby-Friendly Hospital: Yes
  • Locked Unit: Yes

 

Required Certifications

  • BLS
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • Advanced Fetal Monitoring
  • COVID Vaccine (required)

Skills Preferred

  • L&D experience with high-risk obstetrics
  • Ability to scrub for C-sections is a plus (not mandatory)

Technology

  • EMR: Cerner
  • Fetal Monitoring: Fetal Link
  • Telemetry: Central fetal heart monitoring

Hospital Support

  • IV Team: Available during the day
  • Respiratory Therapy: 24/7
  • Pharmacy: 24/7
  • OB/GYN Hospitalist: In-house

Orientation

  • Unit-specific orientation: 3 shifts
