Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN for a night shift LDRP position requiring 2+ years of LDRP experience, AWHONN and NRP certification, and an active OR license.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery/LDRP unit of a Level III trauma, teaching hospital
• Care for low to moderate risk laboring, antepartum, and postpartum patients and their newborns
• Triage obstetrical patients in dedicated triage rooms and perform Medical Screening Exams (MSEs)
• Circulate and recover C-sections from the OR suite and private rooms
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours, 1900-0730
• Weekend requirement
• No call requirements
• Floating within the hospital required; no floating to sister hospitals
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (Standard or Compact), OR license required
• Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate (Stable preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of LDRP experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred but not required
• Experience with fetal monitoring, IV starts, triage, and circulating required
• Comfortable initiating NRP for low-moderate risk deliveries, including CPAP and PPV until additional help arrives
• Newborn transition and baby nurse experience required
• Epic charting experience required for consideration
• COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions accepted

Additional Information

• Provide labor and delivery, antepartum, and postpartum nursing care within an LDRP model
• Ability to float to Postpartum/NICU preferred
• Mentor or preceptor experience preferred
• No prints allowed on scrubs; scrubs provided for OR use
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this assignment
• Locals accepted at the same pay rate
• RTO limited to a maximum of 1 week
• Former employees must have a 6+ month gap before returning as a traveler
