Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Level III NICU RN with therapeutic cooling experience to provide critical care to high-acuity neonates on a 13-week assignment.

Details

• Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit setting
• Care for premature, critically ill, and medically complex neonates
• Manage infants requiring advanced respiratory and hemodynamic support, including ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP/NIPPV, and high-flow oxygen
• Provide therapeutic hypothermia/cooling for eligible infants
• Monitor and manage central lines, PICC lines, and umbilical lines (UAC/UVC)
• 13-week assignment with a scheduled shift of 06:45-19:15

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN or Compact) required
• Current BLS (AHA) and NRP certifications required
• STABLE certification may be required based on facility policy
• Minimum 1 year of NICU experience required; 3-4+ years of Level III NICU experience preferred
• Hands-on therapeutic cooling experience required
• Must be able to independently manage complex, high-acuity NICU patients with minimal supervision
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Administer and titrate IV medications, continuous infusions, TPN, and blood products as ordered
• Recognize and respond to neonatal deterioration and participate in resuscitation and stabilization efforts
• Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and the multidisciplinary NICU team
• Provide education and emotional support to families throughout the infant's hospitalization
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate that varies by facility location
• Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
