Requirements:
1. Education:
a. Master of Social Work degree from an Michigan Department of Education (MDE)- approved graduate school
b. Completion of an approved school social worker program from a graduate school of social work
c. Minimum of 500 clock hours of supervised social work practicum experiences
2. Certificates/ Licenses:
a. Recommendation for Temporary Approval for School Social Worker from a Michigan school of social work training
program (Or)
b. MDE Temporary Approval for School Social Worker (Or) -
c. MDE Continuing Temporary Approval for School Social Worker (Or)
d. MDE Full Approval for School Social Worke
Clear, articulate communication skills
Ability to develop strategies and make referrals for a diverse population
Completion of a criminal record and background check
