Overview
Licensed Practical Nurse – Med Surg Telemetry Overflow, Rochester, NY, United States. This travel, temporary assignment starts June 1, 2026 and runs for several weeks. Weekly pay ranges from $1,228 to $1,293. Shift is 3x12-hour days. The assignment takes place in a 14-bed med/surg unit with telemetry overflow to accommodate ED boarders within a hospital setting. Orientation is 12 hours. First-time travelers are welcome for this unit.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for adult medical-surgical patients with telemetry needs; monitor and document vitals, report status changes using SBAR to the RN or physician.
- Perform phlebotomy and IV placement per unit policy; manage IV therapy and line care.
- Provide wound care, dressing changes, and management of drains (JP/Hemovac) as directed; assist with catheter care.
- Support telemetry monitoring, oxygen administration, and medication administration within scope; include IM/SQ injections and point-of-care glucose monitoring.
- Document in EPIC, ensure accurate and timely charting; participate in interdisciplinary communication and handoffs.

Requirements
- Licensure: Current New York state LPN license (in hand); pending licenses not accepted.
- Certification: BLS required.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year RN experience required.
- Skills: EPIC charting experience required; phlebotomy and IV placement competency; ability to work in a med/surg telemetry overflow setting; float to med/surg as needed.
- Other: Orientation of approximately 12 hours; able to work a 3x12-hour shift schedule and participate in required on-unit processes.
