Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified Behavioral Healthcare Provider 2 to provide behavioral health services in a structured healthcare setting. The provider will conduct assessments, counseling, psychosocial interventions, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and follow-up care for individuals with behavioral and mental health needs.
The position involves working with interdisciplinary treatment teams and coordinating care with external facilities, agencies, and support services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual, family, and group counseling and behavioral health interventions within the scope of licensure.
- Conduct client interviews, psychosocial assessments, and evaluations to identify treatment needs and establish appropriate goals.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans and intervention strategies.
- Monitor client progress and provide feedback regarding the effectiveness of treatment.
- Provide counseling, education, crisis intervention, and support for clients with behavioral health needs.
- Participate in treatment planning and interdisciplinary treatment teams.
- Prepare and maintain accurate clinical documentation, social histories, admission/aftercare summaries, and other required records.
- Complete documentation in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Participate in treatment planning, program development, training sessions, staff meetings, and court-related activities as required.
- Evaluate client progress and assist with reviewing cases and treatment plans.
- Coordinate referrals and follow-up services with healthcare facilities, community agencies, and other support resources.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation required by federal, state, and local agencies.
- Recognize and appropriately respond to crisis situations, unusual conditions, or potential safety concerns.
- Apply appropriate behavioral health, counseling, and social work principles and techniques in client care.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold at least one of the following Ohio credentials:
- Licensed Social Worker (LSW)
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
- Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW)
- Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT)
- Registered Nurse (RN) with the required master's-level education or qualifying mental health/psychiatric nursing credentials
Important:LCDC II alone is not sufficient for this position.
Additional Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, as applicable to the professional license.
- Current CPR certification.
- Ability to provide behavioral health services within the scope of professional licensure.
- Strong communication, counseling, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams and individuals with complex behavioral health needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Approximately 5 years of behavioral health, counseling, social work, or related experience
- Experience with crisis intervention, treatment planning, case management, or correctional/structured healthcare environments is a plus.
