Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Long Term Acute Care Medical Rehabilitation Unit position requiring 1-2 years of experience and a CT or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Medical Rehabilitation Unit (MRU) / CMU of a long term acute care hospital
• Medically complex rehabilitation setting with cardiac monitoring, not a traditional Med/Surg unit
• Patient population includes LVAD, CVA, ABI, SCI, wound care, CAPD, and vent-dependent patients
• Ratios are 1:7 on days/evenings and 1:9 on nights
• Schedule options include 3x12s or 5x8s, 12H Day shift from 07:00 AM to 07:30 PM
• Travelers on 3x12 schedules will float after 8 hours
• Floating required to sister units MRU and CMU, with possible additional floating for 12-hour shift workers
• Every other weekend required

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
• 1-2 years of RN experience required
• Experience with respiratory/vented patients strongly preferred, though nurses do not manage ventilators directly
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Responsible for IV starts, drips, blood administration, EKGs, medication titrations, glucose monitoring, wound vac changes, complex and simple wound dressings, trach care, suctioning, straight cath, foley care, port access, central line dressing, and wound measurements
• Must be willing to obtain flu vaccination or provide a medical declination; personal or religious declinations not accepted
