Job Summary:
Long Term Care Nurse in Peoria, Illinois. This position involves providing care for residents in a long-term care setting with a focus on patient needs such as respiratory care, post-surgical recovery, wound management, and IV therapy. The role requires active licensure and a commitment to delivering quality patient care in a supportive environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois nursing license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated; active BLS (American Heart Association) certification; minimum of 0 years of experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: ACLS certification preferred but not required.
  • Duties: Providing comprehensive care to residents, including PEG tube feedings, CVC/PICC/Midline care, and tracheostomy management. Reading tele monitoring strips is required; respiratory therapy equipment such as vents, Cpap, BiPap, and High Flow are used on the unit, with RNs troubleshooting and managing these devices.
  • Additional Information: The unit accommodates 10 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5. House supervisor is available 24/7. Staffing includes nurse aides/patient care techs. Orientation includes classroom training and two shifts on the unit with a preceptor. Scrubs are provided, with OSF approved t-shirts allowed in any color.
  • Shifts & Scheduling: 12-hour night shifts, with every other weekend and holiday rotation required. The role may involve floating to other units such as ICU or Acute Rehab as needed.
