Job Summary:
Long Term Care Registered Nurse (RN) in Peoria, Illinois. This role involves providing comprehensive patient care in a 10-bed unit within an acute division environment. The position requires working night shifts and accommodating the units specific patient needs, such as respiratory support, post-surgical care, wound management, IV antibiotics, and stabilization for post-stroke or trauma patients.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Illinois nursing license, BLS certification (American Heart Association), at least 1 year of nursing experience, active license or confirmation of application process, active IL license or confirmation of application process
- Preferred Qualifications: ACLS certification
- Responsibilities: Manages patient care directly, administers and troubleshoots respiratory equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow), handles titratable drips such as Heparin, performs PEG tube care/feedings, CVC/PICC/Midline care, manages tracheostomy patients, reads monitoring strips, and collaborates with the house supervisor and nurse aides to ensure quality care.
- Orientation: Classroom training per policy plus 2 shifts on the unit with a preceptor
- Additional Information: The facility operates a 24/7 house supervisor and telemonitoring system monitored by the ICU staff. RNs may be required to float to ICU or Acute Rehab. All personnel must adhere to scrubs-only dress code with OSF-approved T-shirts.
