Job Requirements
Education Requirements:

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license valid in the state of Wisconsin

Certifications Requirements:

  • CPR certification
  • First Aid certification (preferred)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of corrections and/or psychiatric nursing experience
  • Experience working in a secure or detention facility preferred
  • Prior night shift nursing experience

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to work a rotating 36-48 hour night shift schedule (7 PM - 7 AM)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations in a correctional setting

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to correctional facility inmates and detainees during night shifts.
  • Collaborate with security staff and healthcare team members to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and progress accurately in electronic health records.
  • Maintain infection control standards and manage medical emergencies as needed.
