Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an LTAC Med/Surg Tele position on nights, requiring SC or compact RN license and cardiac monitoring skills.

• LTAC Med/Surg Tele unit setting
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Weekend shifts required as needed
• On-call required to satisfy holiday coverage requirements
• Floating expected to a lower level of care within skillset based on critical staffing needs

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required (pending license accepted if obtained before start)
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred
• 2 years of experience preferred, will consider 1 year on a case-by-case basis
• LTAC or short-term acute care experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with modes of mechanical ventilation (CV, CMV, A/C, SIMV, PS, PC, IRV +/- PEEP) and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Recent Epic EMR experience preferred but not required

Additional Information

• Must pass arrhythmia and medication tests on first day of orientation, with only one attempt allowed
• Shaving may be required to pass an onsite respiratory fit test
• Attendance policy in effect: missing more than two shifts per 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may result in contract review for cancellation
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible as a traveler; local candidates not accepted
• All requested time off must be submitted with the initial application, as later requests will not be considered
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former permanent staff of the health system are not eligible to return as travelers
