Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an LTAC unit position requiring 2+ years of current LTACH experience and a KY or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in the LTAC unit of a long-term acute care hospital setting
  • Patient population includes MS/Tele, ICU, and PCU level care with 1:4 patient ratios
  • Uses Meditech EMR
  • Day shift schedule rotating between 3x12 and 4x12 hour shifts (7:00-19:30)
  • Rotating 36/48 schedule totaling 84 hours per two-week pay period
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated

Requirements

  • Active RN license (KY State or Compact) in hand at time of consideration
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 2 years of current LTACH experience required
  • MS/Tele or ICU experience required
  • Community hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Skilled in ventilator management, arterial line care, and complex wound care
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG interpretation
  • Driver's license required with address matching permanent residence
  • Two professional references required (one Charge or higher, one supervisor), completed within the last year

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care in a long-term acute care setting including ventilator weaning, wound care, and hemodynamic monitoring
  • Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates are not accepted
  • Up to 7 days of RTO considered if presented upfront with no changes accepted afterward
  • Must work either a major or minor holiday for every holiday period
  • Traveler pairs accepted on a limited basis and will not be scheduled on the same shift or unit
  • Returning travelers must take a minimum 6-month break after completing one year with the system before becoming eligible to return
