Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Long Term Care/Skilled Nursing Facility position requiring an ND or compact license and 2+ years of LTC experience.

Details

• Long Term Care/Skilled Nursing Facility setting with 26 beds/residents
• Patient population includes heart disease, diabetes, and dementia diagnoses
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:10 on days and 1:19 on nights
• No IVs, titratable drips, or telemetry monitoring on this unit
• Uses MatrixCare/Matrix EMR system
• 12-hour day shifts, 7a-7p, working every other weekend
• No self-scheduling or blocked schedules
• No floating or call/standby requirements
• No respiratory therapist on-site 24/7
• Physician available by phone after hours
• PT available as needed, with a designated social worker
• Pharmacy services are off-site
• Oxygen therapy equipment includes concentrators and portable concentrators

Requirements

• Active ND state or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• LTC experience required
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Nurse serves as charge nurse, administers medications, and performs wound care
• No clinical involvement with acute inpatient rehab team conferences
• Works under DON supervision with no additional nursing supervisors on-site
• No dress code specified beyond clean and presentable attire
• 2-3 shifts of unit/department specific orientation provided
• Holiday coverage required for every other major holiday
• Upfront RTO limited to 7 days or less per 13-week contract, with no additional RTO approved after submission
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates may not have current or recent full-time, part-time, or PRN employment with any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity
