Job Requirements

Education Requirements:

• Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN) diploma or equivalent from an accredited program.

Certifications Requirements:

• Current LVN/LPN license in the state of Texas.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) or equivalent certification (preferred).

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience.
• Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced mental health environment.
• Experience with psychiatric patient assessment and treatment plans.

Other Requirements:

• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical ability to assist with patient mobility and perform duties requiring standing and walking for extended periods.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive psychiatric nursing care to patients, including administering medications and monitoring mental health status.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans.
• Document patient progress, responses to treatment, and any incidents accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment protocols, and coping strategies.
