Standard Job Description:
Perform mammographic exams and procedures as requested by physicians to detect breast abnormalities. Ensure diagnostic mammographic and stereotactic equipment is operable and compliant with MQSA. Prepare exam rooms, review requisitions and prior reports/images, consult with radiologists as needed, and provide patient education regarding screening versus diagnostic processes. Collect accurate patient history and refer symptomatic patients to providers per protocol. Provide patient-centered care and ensure comfort and safety during procedures. Operate mammography equipment, set exposure factors, evaluate image technical quality, and maintain accurate radiology records. Perform DEXA examinations as indicated and maintain quality control documentation. Manage PACS operations including image transfer and archiving. Maintain continuing education to meet ARRT and state requirements. Complete other duties as assigned.
