Join our team as an experienced Mammography Technologist for a travel assignment at a hospital in Falmouth, MA. In this role, you will perform diagnostic and screening mammographic and DEXA exams, ensure MQSA and ACR quality standards, and support patient care through accurate imaging and clinical communication.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Mammography (M).
  • Current ARRT certification in Radiography.
  • Current, active Massachusetts state license for Radiology and Mammography as required by state and federal regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience performing 3D Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT) and 2D Full-Field Digital Mammography consistent with MQSA and ACR standards.
  • BLS certification.
  • Experience performing DEXA (bone density) scans, including spine, hip, and forearm.
  • Knowledge and documented completion of MQSA-compliant quality control procedures and daily QC testing for mammography and DEXA.
  • Ability to operate PACS, manage image processing, archive data, and handle image transfer tasks (burn CDs, access patient directories).
  • High school diploma or GED and graduation from a JRCERT-accredited radiography program.
  • Strong patient communication skills and ability to perform patient positioning and radiation protection measures.
  • Preferred: Advanced ARRT Bone Density Operator certification and current participation in required continuing education for mammography and state licensing.


Assignment Details:

  • Shift details: Monday–Friday, 07:00–15:00.

Standard Job Description:

Perform mammographic exams and procedures as requested by physicians to detect breast abnormalities and breast cancer. Ensure equipment operates correctly and complete all required quality assurance checks to maintain MQSA compliance. Prepare exam rooms, review requisitions and prior imaging, consult with radiologists when needed, and educate patients regarding screening versus diagnostic processes. Provide compassionate care to ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures. Perform diagnostic mammographic and stereotactic procedures, adjust equipment and exposure factors, and evaluate image technical quality. Maintain accurate radiology records and labeling. Perform DEXA examinations and maintain QC documentation for bone density operations.

Maintain proficiency in daily quality control, patient positioning, scan protocols, data management, and radiation protection. Complete operator certification training for software and hardware operation, QC, patient positioning, and radiation protection. Complete PACS processing and ensure appropriate image transfer and archiving. Participate in continuing education as required by ARRT and Massachusetts licensing standards. Maintain patient confidentiality and professional relationships with patients, physicians, and staff. Perform other duties as assigned.
