Job Title: Mammography Tech Profession: Mammography Tech Specialty: Mammography Tech Duration: 13 months Shift: Day Shift - Monday to Friday Hours per Shift: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Experience: Preferred experience as a Mammography Technologist License: Required Radiologic Technologist License Certifications: - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Radiography (ARRT-R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Mammography (ARRT-M) - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor Must-Have: - Associates degree in Radiologic Technology - Required certifications Description: Performs specialized examinations of the breast to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease. Conducts all required procedures while operating specialized equipment. Acts as a competent clinician providing clinical care using appropriate technical and decision-making skills. Completes patient education regarding the exam while promoting privacy and comfort for the patient. Follows infection control and safety guidelines. Performs diagnostic or screening mammograms as ordered. Prepares for and assists the Radiologist in completing intricate mammography examinations, including breast biopsies. Produces high-quality films for evaluation and completes appropriate documentation. Obtains pertinent patient information and communicates preparation instructions to patient care areas. Escalates questions, problems, and significant challenges to senior staff for guidance or expertise. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
