Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality diagnostic mammography exams while ensuring patient comfort and dignity
- Operate and maintain radiology diagnostic equipment safely and according to protocol
- Use PACS and electronic practice management systems to accurately document and manage images
- Apply radiation safety principles to protect patients and staff
- Communicate exam findings and patient concerns clearly with the care team
- Provide compassionate patient education about procedures and follow-up
- Maintain accurate charts, complete orientation requirements, and follow clinic workflows
Qualifications
- Certified Mammography Technologist — ARRT (M) required
- Medical Radiographer: CA (MRAD:CA) required
- Basic Life Support (BLS-CPR) required
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology (or equivalent) required
- Completion of 40 hours of structured education in Mammography required
- Registered Technologist Radiography (ARRT RTR) preferred
- One (1) year experience as a Radiologic/Mammography Technologist preferred
- Six (6) months outpatient experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills
Education
- High School Graduate or GED equivalent required
- Completion of an AMA school of Radiologic Technology or equivalent required
- Completion of 40 hours of structured mammography education required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in mammography and general radiography techniques
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to imaging
- Experience with PACS and electronic practice management systems
- Radiation safety and proper equipment care
- Proficient medical terminology and charting
- Excellent patient communication and customer service
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
