Contract | Full-Time | Days | Wednesday–Tuesday work week

Key Responsibilities

• Perform mammography examinations and develop results to produce quality breast images for radiologist interpretation, handling an expected caseload of 20–25 cases per day per technologist
• Evaluate patient history and physician orders to ensure appropriate procedures are performed; may assist physicians with special procedures including biopsies and needle localizations
• Process Quality Control checks on imaging systems (Hologic and GE units) in accordance with American College of Radiology standards, and notify supervisor of maintenance needs
• Maintain accurate documentation within the Radiology Information System to track procedures performed on each patient
• Communicate with patients regarding procedures to be performed, ensuring patient comfort and understanding throughout the process
• Float to all designated Breast Imaging locations as scheduled; may provide training and supervision to radiologic students rotating through the mammography area

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Mammography Technologist experience
• Active ARRT (R) certification required
• Active Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification from the Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) or Texas Medical Board required
• Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required
• Must be willing and able to float to all Breast Imaging locations as scheduled
• Local candidates are welcome; candidates living within 35 miles of the facility may be subject to a different rate tier

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ARRT Advanced Certification in Mammography highly preferred
• Experience with screening and diagnostic mammograms, as well as assisting with biopsies and needle localizations
• Previous travel assignment experience
