Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic and mammographic procedures, producing images for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner.
• Prepare patients for procedures by providing instructions, gaining cooperation, and minimizing anxiety; corroborate patient clinical history with the procedure and ensure documentation is available.
• Select, operate, and position radiographic and mammographic equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest while respecting patient ability and comfort.
• Determine appropriate radiographic technique exposure factors to minimize radiation exposure to patients and others; evaluate images for technical quality and proper identification.
• Verify informed consent for and assist licensed practitioners with interventional procedures; practice aseptic techniques as necessary.
• Prepare, identify, and/or administer contrast media and/or medications as prescribed by a licensed practitioner, in accordance with applicable state statutes and institutional policy.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• ARRT registration in Mammography.
• Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) registration.
• Current BLS certification.
• CRASE training required if the travel assignment extends beyond a 6-month period.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Radiography and/or Mammography Technologist.
